Indian university systems must have long since embodied the spirit of change, in respect of the new times or in the context of NEP. This is not just another reformation. It is about a revolutionary change in education, making it accessible, dynamic, and acceptable worldwide. The policy also hopes that the old wise principles integrated into modern-day advancement will create room for equity and advancement as well.

In recent times, such ideologies have found the most practical support and advocacy of their application in Vivekananda Global University (VGU), Jaipur. Founded with the focus on promotion of traditional principles, creation of new minds, and provision of learning reforms primarily for students, VGU demonstrates the process of education policy setting and its application to the benefit of learners.

NEP 2020: The Major Fact of Changing Education

To put it simply, nep 2020 is the most comprehensive and radical plan for the underrepresented citizens within and outside an institutional context. In the process, the policy departs from the traditional textbook approach of teaching and embraces problem-solving, inquiry-based, and recreational educational systems.

Among the many significant purposes are:

  • The promotion of innovative thinking
  • The promotion of interdisciplinary curricular choices
  • An attempt at a synthesis of the world’s cutting-edge knowledge with the country’s traditions

At VGU, these tendencies are not only addressed in words. The campus has also been designed with experiential learning courses, interdisciplinary work projects, and a policy of the university that stimulates inquisitiveness and cooperation. Students are given an opportunity to extend beyond the main subjects to participate in the 21st Century Learning Model and develop behavior that encourages the use of change and new ideas.

Building Balance Between Tradition and Progress

The element of NEP’s policy that has sparked curiosity and is worth mentioning is the emphasis on the transformation of history into the present. The Literature Promoting Philosophy and Practices of Life Education teaches that legal and ethical issues and the art of relaxation belong to formal education.

VGU does this with the following additions:

  • Schooling practice of a value-based approach in conjunction with the academic school and vocational training
  • Increasing emotional quotient through meditation classes, coaching, and reflective thinking
  • Promoting sound judgment among leaders seeking advancement

Respecting tradition and validating progress, VGU students are groomed to face the future without losing the traditions of their people. This is the true essence of Indian higher education institutions—reinterpreting the values of the past without uprooting them.

Note: The New Education Policy – Higher Education Module

Nep 2020 focuses on higher education to a very large extent— aesthetics, cost, structure, and content. Concentration on such themes has been promoted by VGU for the effectiveness and satisfaction of the students.

To name a few:

  • Flexible credit systems that ensure that students can choose what they wish to study
  • Bursary programs that encourage students to go out of their home country
  • Centres that cut across the disciplines of research and development, design, or entrepreneurship
  • Industry collaboration that links the knowledge gained in classrooms to practical areas of application
  • Incorporating environmental and sociological studies into the courses

Graduating solely with a university degree is a thing of the past. Now, graduates do so with a wealth of self-awareness, entrepreneurial versatility, and acute international competence. It therefore allows VGU to improve its global image while maintaining focus on inclusion that aligns with accreditation standards and ratings.

Policy and Practice Implications in Education

In India, the NEP is not just a policy—it is a narrative of where the education process is heading.

It promotes access to all learners by incorporating austerity, morality, and competitiveness on the national level.

“This is what the university would like to see happen. Schools and universities have very good and extensive ambitions and principles, and this is how they build it into their day-to-day operations. To deliver education for students, progressive values and discipline are the banners that every single student carries during and after their studies.”

In effect, Indian education of the 21st century shows that there is a bright future of education for India, bringing forth students who are capable, creative, strong, and morally right.

Universities as a Frontier of Development

The change in the educational system of India is dependent on institutions specifically transforming their way of operation. VGU is a testament to the fact that the aims of nep 2020 go beyond box-ticking exercises, but are about charting paths to the fulfillment of a productive student’s life. Its account of actions lays the foundation of how a university could achieve the objectives of the policy in place and provide growth avenues for both academic and practical well-being.

Through a multi-pronged strategy of dissemination of new technologies to society, close partnerships with international and regional collaborators, and adherence to the highest ethical standards, VGU represents the aims and aspirations of any university. This is what the vision of the National Education Policy reads.

Seeing Education as a Totality of Experiences

It is not the NEP 2020 structure that works only on changing the courses or making them more liberal. It depicts that students who have to function in a global environment still remain tethered to their roots.

VGU models this ideal, adjusted within the context of digital learning platforms, AI-powered classrooms, and international research.

When this model begins to take shape in most universities of India, the facets of education will change. It will breed intelligent and considerate generations of leaders, professionals, and citizens. That’s where NEP is aimed—converting the education system into the form of an endless educational experience of improvement and development.
